Youth lacrosse practices should largely be focused on properly developing the fundamental skills while simultaneously fostering a love for the game. It’s important to make sure players learn and practice these techniques properly:
- Passing: FOOTWORK (standing sideways to the target); hands up and away from the body; top hand towards the middle of the stick, bottom hand at the butt-end of the stick; push/pull motion; making sure the stick is lined up towards the target; throwing overhand; snapping the wrists and following through.
The TBLA Youth Academy is offering box lacrosse for middle school aged players and younger. The TBLA is currently run in Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio.
