Youth Lacrosse: Some basic points of emphasis

Youth lacrosse practices should largely be focused on properly developing the fundamental skills while simultaneously fostering a love for the game.  It’s important to make sure players learn and practice these techniques properly:

  • Passing:  FOOTWORK (standing sideways to the target); hands up and away from the body; top hand towards the middle of the stick, bottom hand at the butt-end of the stick; push/pull motion; making sure the stick is lined up towards the target; throwing overhand; snapping the wrists and following through.
